Your home is likely to be your most valuable property. You’ve spent countless amounts of money and time making it look and feel good. Furnishing each room and adding furniture to make it your own, your joy to live in. Yet all of this can be disrupted with one lapse of judgement: not being protected from unwanted visitors. Visitors who could break in and undo all of that hard work. Imagine yourself as a monarch back in early England, a king in his castle, and think about the protection you would have had from intruders. Guards with longbows and a drawbridge over a moat would have certainly put off anyone thinking they could break in for their own personal gain.

Home Insurance is certainly a good idea as it will give you some form of protection making it easier for you to sleep at night, but is it enough? No. It’s not. What can be done about this? It’s 2010, moats and armed guards aren’t practical. Nowadays house alarms, home burglar alarms, home security systems and even Wireless Alarm Systems are the prime defence and are preferably needed to ensure your property’s security from burglars, intruders and criminals. Installing a home security systems can and will improve the safety of your family and property.

Can you imagine coming home from a grocery shopping trip only to find your house has had what looks like a tornado rip through it? Imagine papers and empty draws strewn across the floors, glass smashed, complete disrespect for your family home and an empty space where all of your prized, expensive possessions used to be. Jewellery that had been in the family for years has now vanished without a trace. The new TV you just bought and the kids’ games console that they just got for Christmas has been torn from pride of place. It’s not something you want to have to worry about. Ever.

A home alarm system is a big deterrent when it comes to burglars. Why would you get ‘hit’ if you had an alarm system installed but the house next door doesn’t? You wouldn’t, think about it. Criminals take the easy way out, not only in their choice of life but in their choice of locations to steal from.

You can understand why efficient burglar alarms are in so much of a demand these days. With the recession still floating around and unemployment at a high, people living on the edge turn to crime. Don’t be a victim. Burglar alarm systems are primarily electronic devices that are connected to a series of sensors and the alarm siren itself. All components are connected to a main control unit through either a low voltage narrowband RF signal or hardwired. When a sensor is ‘tripped’ and a connection is made between the unit and the sensor, it will start the alarm to generate an immediate response.

The most common types of alarms will be able to pick up the opening of a window or door and are generally connected using wires if possible. Wireless systems exist and can provide benefits over the wired alarm systems. Benefits can include an easier set-up, easy operation and extreme flexibility.

It is possible to find systems that are dedicated to a single purpose. There are systems that handle intrusion, fire, and other safety aspects. The main question to ask when looking to purchase a system is “is it fit for purpose and will it keep ME safe?” if “yes” then it’s the system for you.

Design and features are all down to your own specific needs and a reputable alarm will help you address this. Do you want a small alarm on only one door or an alarm system that controls the main points of access to the house? Do you want a complete computerised control system or one that can be activated/deactivated at the push of a button? All these questions need to be answered and once they are you will be one step closer to securing your castle.

Efficiency of burglar alarms depends greatly on the number of zones that are being monitored, the number of sensors you have installed and their sensitivity. Again, a reliable company will be able to talk you through the ins and outs of a new system to you. Alarm systems these days can initiate various actions such as calling the police or fire department as well as the ambulance service immediately. Other alarms can call a personalised number to alert property owners to determine if the alarm is genuine for example.

The result you want from an alarm system is for the alarm to activate when any a sensor has been triggered. Then that action should cause a reaction due to a siren or an automated call through to the police etc.

Some insurance companies require your premises have an alarm system as they consider you to be at too much of a risk if you’re not protected in that way. As you can see, the benefits of a good alarm system greatly outweigh the costs. Remember when looking for an alarm system to contact the best local alarm companies who have gained years of experience in the industry and can cater for every situation. There are companies providing alarm solutions in every local area, including Wireless Alarms Birmingham, Warwickshire, Redditch, Worcestershire, Solihull and more generally the West Midlands. Make sure you get a system that is reliable, efficient and made of high quality materials so it can stand the test of time.

These days, home burglary is one the rise. Over 70% of all crime these days relates to property crimes, normally involving the home. Although police and local authorities are doing everything they can to put a stop to crime, burglary is something that cannot be stopped. Even though there are ways to protect yourself, burglars will always be lurking out there – waiting for their next victim.

Even though there are ways to prevent unwanted entry to your home, a determined burglar will always find a way to get in. Breaking and entering is his job, and most burglars are extremely good at it. Statistics show that burglaries occur every 15 seconds. What that means, is that every 15 seconds there is someone out there getting robbed.

Over the years, home burglaries have received a lot of attention, some of which have even been on the news. Although some burglars eventually get caught and arrested, most seem to disappear without a trace. To protect yourself and your home, there are tactics such as security alarms, burglar alarms, and even security cameras that you can use.

Property marking is a great way to protect yourself as well. Property marking involves marking everything that you own with a signature or mark that you can easily identify once the property has been recovered. You can use micro dots, UV pens, or even laser pens. The idea here is to mark your property so it won’t be easy to sell on the black market. Even though it may sound weird, most burglars do study their targets quite a bit before they decide to rob them.

One of the most effective forms of home security is the home security system. If a burglar tries to rob your home and notices that you have a security system set up, he will normally start to get second thoughts and eventually change his plans. On the other hand, if the burglar decides to go ahead and rob a home with a surveillance system anyway, the system will normally catch him on video, making it easy for the police to identify who he is. Home surveillance and security cameras are great to have, and can either be wireless or wired, dummy or real, outdoor or indoor, or even a combination of several.

Alarms are also a great way to prevent burglary. The police will tell you that home burglar alarms prevent over 50% of attempted burglaries in the home. There are several types of burglar alarms, from those that aren’t expensive to those that are monitored around the clock. Alarms will let burglars know that robbing your home isn’t going to be easy, and that they should really give it a second thought. Tried and true over the years, alarms have be proven to be very effective and above all else – they work.

No matter what direction you decide to take, there are indeed ways that you can protect your home from burglary. In the United States, home security systems have really become a big business. Millions of home owners throughout the U.S. are investing in security and surveillance systems, knowing that the day will come when they will come in very handy. Even though you may never be robbed, there is always a chance. Burglaries can happen at any time, which is why you should always be protected. If you think ahead and invest in a security system, you’ll be prepared for anything that happens. You have to think in terms of self defense – and ensure that your home is protected for anyone who decides to make you a target.

Years ago, home burglar alarms were only found with rich homes. These days however, the prices have dropped and they are becoming more common with homes of average folk. A lot of people who invest in burglar systems go for the do it yourself systems. They can be wired or wireless, setting off an alarm when an intruder attempts to break in or when they are moving around inside of your house.

With home burglar alarms, there are two types – open and closed circuit. Open circuit systems work by setting off an alarm when the circuit closes. When a window or a door is opened, the circuit is immediately completed and the alarm goes off. Closed circuit systems work the opposite way. When a window or door is opened, the circuit is broken – also setting off the alarm.

Another, more sophisticated option, are motion sensors. Motion sensors sense any type of motion within a certain radius to the sensor. Once it has sensed any motion, it sends a signal out to the control panel that will analyze it and see if the movement is considered suspicious. If the movement is indeed considered suspicious, it will react to the way you have it set up and inform the proper authorities or sound the alarm.

Motion sensors can also be adjusted as well. You can adjust them for things such as pets walking around or any other activity that is common with your home that wouldn’t signify a burglary taking place. Motion sensor alarms are very common these days, and one of the best ways to keep your home safe from a burglar – and give you peace of mind in knowing that you are protected.

Normally, it’s a good idea to use motion sensors and magnetic switches with your burglar alarm setup. Magnetic switches will protect doors and windows while the motion sensors will help to protect larger rooms, such as living rooms and hallways. The combination of the two is never a bad idea – and will go a long way in protecting your home.

Another available option that you have is a security camera. Video cameras are also common these days, and can be mounted in very strategic areas throughout the parameter of your home. They will pick up images in the area they are mounted, which will be displayed on the monitor. You can also record the video to a videotape as well, making it an ideal choice for anyone who wants to keep track of the information that the camera picks up.

You can also get a burglar system from a home security company as well. Most companies monitor their systems remotely, and always have someone in the office to look after the system. Once the alarm is set off, the company will immediately inform the local police or send their own security personnel out to your home. This way, night or day, no matter where you go, your home will always be protected.

Investing in a burglary system of any type is always a smart investment. You have several different to choose from, depending on your needs. If you’ve been worried about your home and the things you keep inside your home, you should invest in a burglary system. They will help you keep peace of mind, and know that you are protected. They don’t cost that much either, which makes them an even better investment. If you own a home – you shouldn’t hesitate to invest in a burglary system.
